Comps Canada: Results from Fall Classic at Edge in B.C.

The Fall Classic kicked off the comp year for B.C. climbers and it was a busy one. All categories, from Youth D to Open, competed on Saturday. Below are the category winners, for full results visit here. The Edge live tweeted the Finals round, which made for fun reading.

Category Winners Male/Female
Youth D: Jack Anthony / Cedar Pidgeon
Youth C: Connor Jones / Emi Takashiba
Youth B: Guy McNamee / Lola Rabinovitch
Youth A: Not listed
Open: Kin Wah Lai / Jani Zoraj

“Finally got my first win in open,” noted Lai after the comp. “So the training seems to be paying off. After a bit of a rough start to the day I managed to pull it all together to pull off the win with only a couple attempts ahead of 2nd place. On paper it might look as I easily cruised through qualifiers but the field is so close that if I had not finished the last problem I would have not made finals.

“It took me 12 attempts to finish the first six problems which would have put me out of finals. Fingers crossed for many more successful endeavors into climbing for me.” Follow the comp action on Instagram at GrippedMagazineComps and if you want us to share a photo use #grippedmagazine or #grippedmagazinecomps.
