IFSC 2016 World Cup: Time for Vail and Canadians Ready

The Vail World Cup is the only IFSC World Cup taking place in North America in 2016. It is part of the GoPro Mountain Games from June 9 to 12 that draws thousands of climbers to take part in demos and events. For this year’s logistics visit here.

There are a number of Canadians already registered to take part in Vail, including siblings Elise and Eric Sethna, Sean McColl, Alannah Yip, Andre DeFelice, Stacey Weldon, Allison Vest, Pia Graham, Lia Wieckowski, Jason Holowach, Will Johnson, Gavin Johnson, Scott Williams and Martin Stranik.

Gripped will have a number of people covering the event from Vail and will be streaming live on Snapchat (@grippedmagazine). Long-time Canadian competitor Stacey Weldon has been training hard in Calgary. Watch the short clip below that features some of the recent mock comps set for Weldon by Dustin Curtis.
