Will take place from Sept. 24 to 26 at Echo Crag near Sudbury

There are many climbing festivals that are back in action this summer, and one if having its inaugural event this September. The Echo Women’s Climbing Festival is taking place near Sudbury at the end of September. It was founded and organized by local climber Laura Schmidt.

The event is described as: “The festival was founded in 2020 as a celebration at the crossroads of northern climbing + intersectional feminism, with a vision of celebrating who we are, as we are, in a space that cultivates + nurtures connection to our outer environment, to our inner landscape, and to each other.”

The festival will take place at the popular Echo Crag near the community of Lively, where you can find sport and trad routes from 5.8 to hard 5.12s. As of now, there are a number of clinics scheduled, including Midori Buechli teaching bouldering hacks and Anna Outdoors on climbing injuries. You can find the full schedule and buy tickets here.
