The Bloc Shop Open was on Oct. 7 and 8 in Montreal. It had dozens of top Canadian and international climbers compete in one of the first bouldering competitions of the seaon in Canada.

For the Males, top World Cup competitors Alex Megos and Jernej Kruder made the trip. Canadians Seb Lazure, Josh Muller, Lucas Uchida, Scott Eveleigh, Florent Balsez, Francis Bilodeau and many more also competed.

For the Females, American Alex Puccio was hoping to continue her impressive 2017 comp season. Melissa Le Neve and Sierra Blair-Coyle also made the trip.

Canadian Females who travelled across Canada include Regan Kennedy, Alannah Yip, Paige Boklaschuk, Alyssa Weber, Pia Graham, Aggy St-Jacques, Kacy Wilson, Audrey Larochelle and many more.

From the Bloc Shop: “Bloc Shop is proud to bring you a world class two-day bouldering competition. With it’s PRO and Citizen categories, climbers of all ages and abilities are welcome.

“International level athletes will attend this year’s event. The Pro category will be a World Cup format, consisting of a five-on/five-off qualifying and semi-final rounds and 4 min+ isolation final round.

In the end, Melissa La Neve and Mawem Michael took top spots after two days of some of the best competition climbing we’ve had in Canada for some time.
