Sean McColl Qualifies at Bouldering World Cup

Sean McColl has qualified for Semi-finals at the bouldering World Cup in Meiringen, Switzerland. McColl finished in fourth in his group. Full results here.

Other Canadian Males who made the trip include Andre DeFelice who finished in 29th in his group and Will Johnson who finished in seventh. For the females, Elise Sethna and Alannah Yip will be competing.

This is the first World Cup stop of 2016. It is a historical 2016 season – which may see the selection of Sport Climbing into the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. This year, Meiringen expands its longstanding climbing tradition by becoming one of six cities to host an IFSC World Cup for the first time.

The heavily anticipated competition will be held indoors on the east end of the village, close to the Meiringen climbing and bouldering gym. Located in the very centre of the Alps, Meiringen will is the perfect place to start the 2016 Sport Climbing season.
