The Canadian Bouldering Nationals will be taking place on March 3 and 4 at Up the Bloc in Ontario.

The big event will feature top climbers from across Canada competing on steep, crimpy and jumpy boulder problems.

The 2017 event was held at Rock Jungle in Alberta and was won by Sean McColl and Alannah Yip.

A number of competitors have weighed in on the event.

Robin MacMillan said, “I’m looking forward to playing on some really awesome boulder. Climbing out east is always an awesome experience. My goal is to make the Canadian team and go to a World Cup.”

Vero Gosselin said, “I love comps: their ephemeral character create unique emotions and learning opportunities. I’m looking forward to grasp that this weekend and climb my best, surrounded by strong inspiring climbers from all over the country.”

Lucas Uchida said, “I want to go and focus entirely on making my performance the best it can be.”

Bronwen Karnis said, “I’m excited to get the chance to compete on some hard boulders and climb with strong climbers from all over the country.”

Florent Balsez said, “I’m looking forward to express my full potential and enjoy the problems.”
