Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival Winners

The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF) concluded its week of films and presentations on Sat., Feb. 21.

The VIMFF had its busiest year to date. With sold out venues every night, festival director Alan Formanek said the turn out was amazing. Some of the top presenters included Sonnie Trotter, Adam Ondra and Will Gadd.

Gripped’s editor Brandon Pullan had the honour of being a jury member for the 2015 VIMFF. Along with seven summits record holder Pat Morrow and his wife Baiba Morrow and Banff Centre festival director Deb Smythe.

Jeff Lowe’s film Metanoia won Jury’s Award after winning best mountaineering film at Kendal Film Festival. Lowe and his partner Connie Self were on hand to receive the award.

Grand Prize went to Jurek, directed by Pawel Wysoczanski.
