New Black Diamond Ropes, Harness and Shoes for 2018

Black Diamond’s rope line is growing in 2018 after a successful few seasons of them being on the market. All ropes have a middle marker, the thinner one are dry and thicker ones are not.

They will include 7 mm twin ropes, 7.9 mm twin/half and 8.5 mm half for trad and ice climbs. There’s also an 8.9 mm triple-rated for sport routes and a 9.4 mm heavy duty rope in dry and non-dry.

There will be a 9.9 mm For those not looking for lower priced rope. And for big wall climbers, Black Diamond is releasing a 10.2 mm. Expect to see these in spring 2018, with some details like sizes and lengths open for change.

In January 2018, Black Diamond is releasing the new Vision harness. The 224-gram alpine harness packs small, has a low volume belay loop, four gear loops, a tag line loop and four ice clipper slots.

Black Diamond’s new shoe line will be released in the spring and summer of 2018. The Momentum is already available in Canada and is being loved by indoor climbers.
