11-Year-Old Ski Prodigy Kai Jones Talks Stoke

Kai Jones is an 11-year-old ski prodigy who is taking the world of extreme skiing by storm.

From going full-send at Corbet’s Couloir to tackling the rarely attempted Central Couloir, Kai is skiing extreme lines at the infamous Jackson Hole Mountain Resort that most adults won’t even consider.

Jones’s home town is Victor, Idaho, and his home mountain is Grand Targhee and Jackson Hole. He’s a team member of TVSEF/Grand Targhee Freeride and is sponsored by Atomic, Teton Gravity Research, Quiksilver, Smith, Jackson Hole and Habitat.

Describe a 2018 IFSA season highlight: My IFSA season highlight of 2018 was putting my run down in Snowbird and winning the National Championships.

What keeps you busy when not freeriding? I can be found Surfing, Climbing, playing Soccer, Skateboarding, and Mountain Biking.

What gets you fired up? Learning new things about skiing and meeting new friends around the mountains.

What changes would you like to see in the world? I would like to see less pollution around the world, and I would like to support our beautiful environment more, I am going to support this cause by recycling and by not littering. Support Protect our Winters.

Tell us something about yourself? I watch The Garfield Show and I love to surf.

What’s your dream job? I want to be a pro skier.
