Canadians Fat Bike Across James Bay in Winter

Eric Batty, Buck Miller, Ryan Atkins and Ted King have ridden their fat bikes on James Bay in Ontario in cold weather. In eight days, they biked 600 kilometres. From Attawapiska they peddled along vast sea ice and connected with ice roads that truck drivers use and ended in Smooth Rock Falls.

They were completing the trip to raise money and awareness for Timmins Native Friendship Center, visit here for more.

“Memorable experiences seem to be forged within the crucible of misery,” said Atkins. “So then how come I enjoyed the James Bay descent so much, despite consistent frigid temperatures, wind and snow? I guess good company, great gear and an unforgettable landscape are strong motivators.”
