Kai Jones is a 12-year-old Wyoming native who came into the scene in a big way last year on the North American IFSA Junior Freeride scene, having won the U12 category.

His fater is Teton Gravity Research co-founder Todd Jones and he’s been riding since 2008, two years after he was born.

This past summer, Kai strapped in for some turns on the St. Anthony Sand Dunes in Idaho.

Summer Sand Ski

He’s already sponsored by Atomic Skis, Quiksilver Outerwear, Teton Gravity Research, Smith Optics, Habitat and Ski Addiction.

“I ski because it’s a good way to get out into the mountains, and enjoy life to the fullest,” he said in his 2017 season edit, which Teton Gravity Research released on their Facebook page in December.

In the film, Kai skied the legendary Corbet’s Couloir, which has been called “America’s scariest ski slope,” in 32 seconds.

We’ll surely be seeing a lot more from Kai over the next few seasons.
