Some Good News: Missing Climber Found Alive in Himalayas

Missing Malaysian climber Wui Kin Chin has been found alive on Annapurna at an elevation of 7,500 metres by a Seven Summit Treks search team led by Sherpa Nirmal Purja. They are currently on their way down the mountain.

Chin, 49, started descending the mountain on April 23 when he disappeared. A helicopter team spotted Chin as he signaled for help. The rescue team was then flown to camp three and quickly advanced to camp four, despite bad weather.

They plan to longline Chin out of camp three once the team are safely there. There have been a number of deaths in the skiing and climbing community over the past few months, so rescuing Chin is much welcomed news.
