Watch Cody Townsend Ski Aemmer Couloir in Alberta

It's one of Canada's most classic ski lines

The Aemmer Couloir is found on the north face of Mount Temple near the town of Lake Louise. The couloir descends over 600 metres in a 45-degree drop down a striking line.

American Cody Townsend, who was trying to ski all of the descents in Fifty Classic Descents of North America, (Chris Davenport, Penn Newhard and Art Burrows), made a last-minute decision to bring his crew to Lake Louise and give it a go.

But as they found out, just getting there is half the battle with sketchy highways, early cold mornings and a 13-kilometre walk just to get to the base of the infamously beautiful Aemmer Couloir. Watch this short film about their descent starring Chris Rubens, Kevin Hjertaas, Bjarne Salen and Cody Townsend.
