Watch Mountain Biker Survive Femoral Artery Injury

This video is not of the faint of heart and you should not watch it if you don’t like seeing blood. That being said, this is a good lesson in how to respond to a backcountry injury.

Cedric Gracia was mountain biking in the downhill marathon race Megavalanche at La Réunion island in 2013 when he fell and ruptured his femoral artery.

This injury can result in death if not dealt with quickly. Again, there’s a lot of blood. Fast-forward to 29 seconds to pass the lengthy introduction to the film.
