Watch Skiers Make Smart and Quick Rescue at Vancouver Ski Hill

A group of young skiers is being praised tonight for their efforts to help save a boy who found himself dangling from a chairlift on Grouse Mountain on Wednesday. As Grace Ke reports for Global News, the whole incident was caught on video.

Gabriel Nielson said it was hard to convince the boy to kick off his skis and jump. “At one point, we were just like, ‘OK, you just need to trust us, you just need to drop,” he said. “And so then he dropped, and we caught him.”

The eight-year-old boy was uninjured and sent to Lions Gate Hospital as a precaution.
