Tree planting is a difficult job that thousands of Canadians do every summer once the ground has thawed. Every year, 500 million trees are planted in Canada to establish new forests where trees have been harvested.

The late Guy Lacelle, one of Canada’s most legendary ice climbers, was well-known for his many years of tree planting. In this clip, a planter moves around downed trees to find optimal ground to plant.
