Watch Three Women Ski Temperamental Mount Taranaki

Janina Kuzma, Anna Segal and Evelina Nilsson travel to the North Island of New Zealand with a goal to summit and ski all four skiable volcanic peaks in the region.

The original objectives become out of reach due to foul conditions, but as the weather window shrinks, Mount Taranaki only expands in their minds – not just a land mass, but a mountain with a temperament and soul.

“If Taranaki had just put on the best weather for us we would never have had these opportunities.”

The Taranaki Alpine Club maintains Tahurangi Lodge on the north slope of the mountain. The lodge is frequently used as the base for climbers and skiers.
