Allison Vest Joins CEC Athletes Commission

The Canadian champion joins a strong team at the CEC

The following is a press release about Canadian champion Allison Vest joining the the Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) Athletes Commission (AC)

We are very happy to welcome Allison Vest to the team. Allison was voted onto the AC by her fellow athletes at the Open Bouldering Nationals (OBN) in Kanata, Ontario in January of 2020.

Allison has been climbing and competing for 19 years, and has been a member of our National Team since 2014. Allison is two time Open Bouldering National champion (2018, 2020) and 2019 Open Lead National champion.

While climbing and competing at a high level, Allison completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree at the University of British Columbia, and has been coaching at the Hive in Vancouver since 2017.

Allison’s states her motivations for getting involved with the AC include wanting “to help develop the sport in Canada and allow up and coming athletes to have as good of an experience as I have had, if not better.” Allison hopes “to act as a voice for the opinions of athletes and to be an ear that athletes can talk to.”

The purpose of the AC is to represent and promote the views and interests of the various athletes of Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) to the CEC’s Board of Directors and management on all issues which directly or indirectly affect athletes.
