Athletes Selected for the CEC Lead World Cup Season

On June 13-14, 2019, Calgary Climbing Centre hosted Climbing Escalade Canada’s (CEC) National Team selection camp for the 2019 Difficulty (Lead) World Cup season. Joining Sean McColl and Alannah Yip on the team are the following athletes:

Sophie Buitendyk (18, Abbotsford, BC)
Indiana Chapman (16, Toronto, ON)
Becca Frangos (21, Canmore, AB)
Allison Vest (23, Canmore, AB)
Sean Faulkner (18, Park City, Utah)
Guy McNamee (16, Vancouver, BC)
Kindar McNamee (16, Vancouver, BC)
Lucas Uchida (21, Toronto, ON)

McColl and Yip will compete in the Lead and Speed WC in Villars, Switzerland, next week (July 4-6). All ten team members will compete in Chamonix (July 11-13) and Briançon (July 19-20).

Aside from McColl and Yip, results from the French World Cups will determine who competes at the World Championships in Hachioji, Japan (August 11-21), as well as the fall World Cups, scheduled as follows:
Kranj, SLO (Sept 28-29)
Xiamen, CHN (Oct 18-20)
Inzai, JPN (Oct 26-27)
