Chaehyeon Seo, 16, Crushes at Ice World Cup
The 2019 Lead World Cup winner had only trained with tools for a few days

Chaehyeon Seo, 16, won the Lead World Cup in 2019 and just competed in the Ice World Cup in Cheongsong where she finished sixth overall after making finals. Full results here.
She climbed her first 5.14d in 2018 and was making progress on La Rambla 5.15a in 2019. Before the Ice World Cup, she only trained for four days using ice tools.
“My focus is on national championship and the Asian championship (last Olympic qualifying possibility),” said Seo on 8a.nu. “My winter training focuses on stronger fingers and max strength. We will go to Tokyo next week for boulder training. On Feb. 18, I go to Spain for three weeks.”
