Claire Buhrfeind Heads to Innsbruck World Championships

Claire Buhrfeind shares how she views competition climbing, her love for the sport and why the World Championships in Innsbruck are the perfect testing ground for the 2020 Olympics.

This past year, Buhrfeind won both Sport and Speed at the 2018 USA Climbing Sport and Speed National Championships in Reno, Nevada.

About what one of her strengths are, she said, “Probably my confidence. It’s taken a long time to build and a long time to learn how to be solid in myself.

“When I come to a competition, I’m never really worried about the results, or worried about how I’ll perform. I’m just enjoying it because I love to compete, and I’m a competitor. At the end of the day I’m confident in myself and in my climbing, and that really helps me to try hard.”
