Flashed Launches Home Wall Training Pad + Customizable Print Option

Last Friday, Flashed Climbing launched a product that could be just what rock climbers need at this time of quarantine: the Homewall Training Pad with customizable image printing.

Since the closure of gyms and stay-at-home protocol, many climbers have been looking for ‘at home’ solutions to stay fit and get strong. Along with adventures in bread making, Instagram is blowing up with pics of newly installed fingerboards, campus boards and home climbing walls.

To complete the home set-up, Flashed now offers a professional-grade padding solution, suitable for small spaces, easy to store, and usable both inside and out (when the time comes).

The Homewall Pad eliminates the folds, buckles and straps of regular outdoor crash pads. The result is 4.25” x 42” x 66” of seamless padded flooring. Or, make the landing larger by connecting pads with the integrated Velcro edges.

The Training Pad is a modified version of one of their current products: the inner Thick Pad of The Hueco 2-in-1 system. This means when you’re ready to take your Homewall Pad outside, you can carry it to the crag wrapped in the Hueco Thin Pad.

Versatility is a key feature of the pad, says Mark Fraser, a product designer (among other roles) at Flashed: “It’s not meant to be permanent. The goal is re-purposeful equipment.”

What’s more?

Flashed is offering a customizable print option – Bespoke Prints – for both the Training Pad and the Hueco Thin Pad. For an additional $25, you can get a 37” x 49” image of your choice printed on your pad.

Fraser is excited for Flashed to be first in the industry to offer a crash pad that features a piece of artwork or photograph of the customer’s choice. Maybe it’s something meaningful, inspirational or motivational. Maybe it’s just something fun. The point, he explains, is that You do You, as the slogan goes.

According to Fraser, the idea behind this product is two-fold: “to inspire people to get creative and stay active during this difficult time.” So if you’re on the fence about building a home wall or training space, maybe this rad new pad will tip the balance.
