IFSC Cancels 2020 Climbing World Cups in China

In accordance with China's General Administration of Sports

The IFSC has cancelled three rescheduled World Cups in China following the announcement on July 9 by China’s General Administration of Sports that there won’t be any international sporting events held this year, with the exception of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

The three competitions were scheduled in Chongqing, Wujiang and Xiamen between from October and December. World Cup comps in France in August, Salt Lake City and Seoul in October are currently still scheduled.

The fate of the IFSC Asian Championships, an Olympic selection event, scheduled in Xiamen from Dec. 10 to 13 is not yet known. The Olympics were scheduled to start next week in Tokyo, but have been moved to 2021 due to covid-19.
