Janja Garnbret Wins Jakarta World Cup

Several Canadians climbed well and finished strong compared to previous World Cups this season

The Jakarta World Cup was unique because the finals routes for men and women shared the same finish. Janja Garnbret and Ao Yurikusa took gold for women and men.

Alannah Yip ended in 13th, one of the best finishes for Canada this year. Also from Canada, Chloe Earle finished 25th and Madison Fischer in 34th; for men Oscar Baudrand finished 15th and his brother Victor in 27th.

“Today, the route was not hard enough so it was basically about not making a mistake,” said Garnbret. “I feel bad for Seo because she climbed suburb all the weekend, “Chaehyun Seo from Korea was the runner-up.
