New Climbing Gym Comes to Ontario’s Cottage Country
Bracebridge to get Muskoka's first commercial rope and bouldering climbing gym
When climbing gyms started to open in Canada 30 years ago, few would’ve believed that one day a climbing gym would be built in Ontario’s cottage country, but here we are.
Climb Muskoka will be a 6,400 square-foot indoor rock climbing facility to start. They will provide climbers with a full range of bouldering terrain, over 30-foot walls with top rope, lead and auto belays.
A second story mezzanine will have space for stretching, free weights and cardio equipment. Like all gyms, there will be change rooms, showers and a retail space with hardware and apparel. There will be a multi-purpose room for community groups, team meetings and birthdays. The gym will also offer a full range of youth and adult programs, special events and we anticipate some exciting summer camp programming in 2021.
This is a great addition to Bracebridge and cottage country, and will surely be the place cottagers will head to on bad weather days in summer.
