After an incredible event in Salt Lake City, the IFSC Boulder World Cup series moves to Prague, Czech Republic this weekend. Qualifiers were held today. Men’s Boulder semi-finals and finals will be held tomorrow, Saturday June 3. Women’s Boulder semi-finals and finals will be held the following day, Sunday June 4.

Some huge names in European climbing are moving on to the semi-final round including local hero Adam Ondra, Janja Garnbret, Oriane Bertone, Mickael Mawem, Toby Roberts, Mejdi Schalck, Simon Lorenzi, and Yannick Flohe, among others. This is both Ondra and Garnbret’s first World Cup of the season. Coming off her big toe injury, Garnbret was the only competitor in women’s to top all five qualifier problems.

Fresh off their podium finishes in Salt Lake, Japan teammates Tomoa Narasaki and Sorato Anraku will also be competing in the semis, as will Seoul Boulder World Cup gold medalist, Miho Nonaka. Americans Colin Duffy and Adriene Akiko Clark also made it through to the semi-finals. Their other teammates did not. In women’s, Kyra Condie, Cloe Coscoy, and Quinn Mason placed 27th, 30th, and 53rd respectively. In men’s, Sean Bailey placed 23rd, Zach Galla 35th, and Ellis Ernsberger 43rd.

Canadians Guy McNamee, Kindar McNamee, and Sean McColl did not make it to the semi-finals, placing 69th, 75th, and 85th respectively. In women’s, Madison Fischer just missed out on the semi-finals, coming in 23rd. The only other Canadian woman competing, Evangelina Briggs, placed 55th.

It’s important to note that many of the top-ranked climbers in the women’s division are not competing in Prague, including Natalia Grossman, Brooke Raboutou, Annie Sanders, and Hannah Meul.

The Prague boulder semi-finals and finals will be livestreamed on the IFSC’s Youtube Channel. The YouTube livestream schedule is listed below:
