Ondra Struggles in China and Bouldering Scores Explained

In this episode of Adam Ondra’s series Road to Tokyo, we see Ondra competing at the Wujiang Boulder World Cup in China, the fourth world cup of the season. Ondra missed the third world cup due to illness.

“I often struggle on the Chinese soil and this time it was no exception,” Ondra said. “This episode is slightly longer as it includes an explanation of scoring and system of the bouldering competitions.”

Tough World Cup in China last weekend. Not making finals and ending up in 14th position is frustrating for sure, but there is something to learn from. Even though semifinal boulders were not parkour style, I still struggled and there are some things I need to consider for the future, like better toehooking or heat adaptation.
