Sean McColl Makes Finals in Briancon Lead World Cup

After an epic semis, the finals promises to be a great show

Sean McColl advanced to finals at the Briancon Lead World Cup after a nail-biting semis where some of the best comp climbers in the world made major mistakes. For men, Alex Megos and Stefano Ghisolfi were in the top spots but blew it low on the semis route, sending McColl to finals in fourth with Sean Bailey and Hiroto Shimizu tied for first.

For women, 15-year-old Chaehyon Seo was last out and was the only to top the route. She made her World Cup debut two weeks ago and won silver in Villars and gold in Chamonix. Canadian women at Briancon: Becca Frangos in 38th, Alannah Yip in 50th, Allison Vest in 65th, Indiana Chapman in 67th and Sophie Buitendyk in 68th. And other Canadian men: Lucas Uchida finished in 54th, Sean Fualkner in 57th, Guy McNamee in 77th and Kindar McNamee in 82nd. Full results here, watch finals below.
