Sean McColl Makes Lead Semis in Villars

McColl won gold at Villars Lead World Cup in 2016

Sean McColl has advanced to semi-finals at the Villars Lead World Cup. Fellow Canadian, Alannah Yip, finished in 31st and did not advance. The top 26 from qualifiers advance to semis.

Alex Megos and Jacob Schubert topped both routes in great style and Japan had six men in the top 18. For the women, Janja Garnbret was the only one to top both routes and non-lead specialists Shauna Coxsey and Petra Klingler also advanced.

In 2016, McColl won gold at Villars and finished 29th in speed. This year, McColl finished 47th in speed and Yip finished in 28th. Watch semis below and full results here.
