The History of the MoonBoard by Ben Moon

The MoonBoard

Where did the MoonBoard come from? This is a short film on the history of getting stronger and climbing harder with top climber Ben Moon.

The MoonBoard is a simple panelled climbing wall, 2.44 metres wide by 3.15 metres high, angled at 40 degrees and set with a selection of numbered holds consisting of crimps, pinches, slopers and pockets.

There are now countless MoonBoards around the world and many strong climbers swear by them.

“Because every MoonBoard worldwide is identical, a problem set by a climber in Korea, or even by Ben Moon himself, can be repeated, graded and commented on by a user in Canada,” wrote Julia Bobak in an article titled MoonBoard: A Core Training Tool.

“Want to train like Alex Megos? Find any MoonBoard and you can.” Read the full article here.
