The Hive Climbing Gym Buys Cliffhanger in Vancouver
This will be The Hive's sixth location in Canada
The Hive, owned by Andrew Coffey, has locations in Vancouver, on the North Shore, in Port Coquitlam, in Surrey and in Winnipeg, and will soon be adding another location in Vancouver.
Cliffhanger was one of the first climbing gyms in Canada and opened their doors in 1993. We spoke to Coffey in 2020 about B.C. climbing gyms reopening after Covid closed the province’s facilities here. Unlike every other Canadian province, the climbing gyms in B.C. were not closed during the second or third wave of Covid.
