USA Climbing

USA Climbing has announced its schedule for the 2026 National Championship season. The first event will be the Climbing National Championships from February 11-15 in Orlando, Florida. The National Team Trials will take place a few weeks later, from March 4-8 in Portland, Oregon. USA Climbing is the national governing body for comp climbing in the United States, as recognized by the International Olympic Committee and the IFSC.

Initially scheduled for October 2025, the Climbing National Championships were pushed to February of 2026, just one month before the National Team Trials. USA Climbing changed the date to encourage optimal performance from the athletes. In holding the events one month apart, closer to the start of the IFSC World Cup season, USA Climbing hopes to help foster consistent performance from the athletes and allow for a more significant off-season.

The National Championships will consist of five events this year, with stops in Florida, Texas, Oregon, Georgia and Utah. The Climbing National Championships and National Team Trials will serve as events for Elite team selection. There will be one event each for the Para Climbing National Championships, Collegiate National Championships, and Youth National Championships.

“We’re looking forward to sharing our biggest season yet with athletes and fans,” said Marc Norman, President & CEO of USA Climbing. “We’re grateful for the incredible support of our gym partners, who will host championship events across the country before we wrap up the season at USA Climbing’s own National Training Centre in Salt Lake City.”
