Watch Adam Ondra’s Comp Highlights from 2019

Like many climbers, he was meant to be heading to the Olympics in a month

Adam Ondra was meant to be heading to the Olympics in a month, but due to covid he and countless other comp climbers have had their 2020 season cancelled.

If you’re unaware of who Ondra is, he started climbing at the age of six and by age 13, he climbed his first 5.14d. He’s now climbed nearly 2,000 routes between 5.13b and 5.15+. He made the first ascent of the world’s hardest sport route with Silence 5.15d and is the only climber to have flashed a 5.15a with Supercrackinette.

According to The Economist, Ondra is “regarded as possibly the best climber ever to fondle rock.”

He recently posted a video of highlights from his 2019 season and said: “Missing climbing competitions? Me too, that’s why we have prepared an episode about comps. Insight into what we are doing in isolation or how the audience affects my climbing. Lastly, a commentary of Meiringen and Munich bouldering World Cup 2019.”
