Adam Ondra Climbing World’s Third 5.15c
It's been a decade since he made the first ascent of Vasil Vasil - watch a new film featuring the only ascent of the route

In 2013, Adam Ondra made the first ascent of Vasil Vasil 5.15c, a line that he’d bolted five years prior at Sloup in the Czech Republic. After his send, Ondra said, “Very frustrating process of making no progression for long days, but when it finally happened, on a super cold sticky day, it felt like nothing.”
The crux is a V13 move which is part of a larger seven-metre V14 problem followed by a 5.13d section. Ondra spent no less than 20 days over two years working on the route. He’s just released a new video featuring the historic line.
“10 years ago, I made the first ascent of the third world’s 9b+ [5.15c] route called Vasil Vasil in my homecrag,” he said this week. “The ascent was filmed but never ever edited and released. So I came back, touched the holds, tried some moves and asked Will Bosi and Tomáš Svišť Pilka for commentary for the video re-editing this legendary project.”
