Adam Ondra Flashes 5.15a and Makes History, Again

Adam Ondra has flashed Super Crackinette 5.15a at St. Leger in France. It’s the first-ever flash of a 5.15.

Ondra, who climbed the world’s first 5.15d in 2017 with his send of Silence, has made history again with this big climb.

The first ascent was by Alex Megos and it was bolted by Quentin Chastagnier. Ondra confirmed the grade on Instagram without saying too much more. See below.

In 2012, Ondra flashed the direct start to Southern Smoke at Red River Gorge for the first flash of a 5.14d and later flashed Chromosome Y 5.14d.

Ondra belayed Quentin Chastagnier to watch the moves as Chatagnier put the draws up. There are about 30 moves through a steep overhang on low-percentage moves.

Ondra attempted flashing other 5.15a climbs, including Realization/Biographie and Seleccio Anal.
