Adam Ondra Gets Second Tick of Assassin 5.14d at Smith

In 2016, Drew Ruana made the first ascent of Assassin 5.14d in Smith Rock, the area’s hardest route.

Adam Ondra has made the second ascent of the wild line and said it’s a crazy route. Ondra did not suggest a down grade. According to 8a.nu, Ondra has done 172 routes 5.14d or harder.

Ondra recently visited Yosemite and repeated some hard routes, but on Instagram he’s been praising Smith Rock and Smith Rock pioneer Alan Watts on the regular.
