Adam Ondra Heads to Yosemite and the Dawn Wall

Adam Ondra has graduated from university and is on his way to Yosemite to attempt, among other big routes, the 1,000-metre Dawn Wall 5.14. Ondra, one of the world’s top climbers, has never been to Yosemite and when asked by Black Diamond if he will walk away with a send of Dawn Wall, said, “I don’t want to be too ambitious since I’ve never been to Yosemite. I just want to try it. For me Yosemite is the only crag of historical importance where I haven’t been.

“That’s why I want to go there, and besides that, it looks so cool. Yosemite is radically different than anywhere else I’ve ever been and that’s why I want to go there. And if I was a little piece of the history, that would be cool, but let’s see.” Watch Tommy Caldwell on Dawn Wall below.

Ondra said he will be climbing The Nose 5.14 with his dad and The Salathe 5.13 with friends from home. He will be in Yosemite for over a month and the second free ascent of the Dawn Wall would be a big send.
