Adam Ondra Tops a V14/15 in Austria
Childhood Dreams was his final hard boulder problem of 2024

While on a recent Christmas holiday vacation with his family in Austria, Adam Ondra repeated Childhood Dreams V14/15 (8B+/C). Established by Lukas Mayerhofer in December 2019, the problem is a sit start to Sistem Zida V13. You can watch Ondra send the problem in the video below.
“The post-Christmas trip with my family has been enjoyable,” said Ondra on Instagram. “This boulder from [Lukas Mayerhofer] is very enjoyable and I did not mind too much taking a few falls from the last section that I did not expect to be too hard, but it proved to be quite challenging after the first three brutal moves. The boulder was given [V15], which might be true, but I was able to “cheat” through the first move doing a kneebar, so that is why I take the “slashgrade”.
Ondra had some big bouldering sends in 2024. In March, he flashed Luftig kö till nålens öga V13/14 in Sweden. After the Olympics, he went on a bouldering tear. He made the first ascent of Peppa V14 near his home in Czechia. In Italy, he repeated Flow V13, L’oppio Dei Climbers V14, and Flow State V15 and flashed Grizzly V13. He then flashed Felberqueen V13 in Austria.
In September, Ondra made the second ascent of Martin Stranik’s Konec Sveta, upgrading the problem from V13 to V14. He also flashed the direct start of the problem, which clocks in at V13. In November, he repeated an old FA of his called Krater. Originally V15, a hold has since broken, upping the difficultly to V15/16.
