Alex Honnold Climbs 5.14+ in the U.S.A.
About the 5.14d he said, "I could even imagine hard 8c [5.14b] the way I did it..."

Alex Honnold has climbed Manphibian at Mount Charleston in Nevada. Andy Rather made the first ascent in 2017 and graded it 5.14d, which other climbers have agreed with. Honnold gave it a personal grade of 5.14c. Watch Daniel Woods climb it below.
“Psyched to get this done in between life stuff – too much work travel,” Honnold wrote on 8a.nu. “Used kneebars in several places that surely make this much easier than 9a – I could even imagine hard 8c the way I did it. But it’s still a great route and I really enjoy the upper part.”
To date, Honnold has climbed seven 5.14c sport climbs and one 5.14d with Arrested Development in 2019. In 2021, he made the first ascent of Neptue, a 50-metre 5.14b/c also at Mount Charleston. He’s also one of the most accomplished free-soloists to ever live with several mind-blowing climbs to his name, including the first free-solo of El Capitan in Yosemite.
