Alex Megos Cleans Up in France with 5.15 FA

The steep routes of St. Léger and perfect conditions led to a strong week of climbing

Top German climber Alex Megos recently visited St. Léger where he made quick work of a number of classic hard lines up to 5.15, including the first ascent of Et pour quelques dégaines de plus.

During his stay, he ticked Les petits chefs des néant 5.14b, La tournée du patron 5.14b, L’étrave 5.14b, Rêve de Poutre 5.14c/d, Crackinette 5.14c, La Ligne Claire 5.14c, La Castagne 5.14d/15a and Cadafist 5.14d/15a.

About the below send, Megos said, “I checked out this route on my first day and quickly figured out beta that might work. The hard part of the route already starts five metres off the ground and involves some tensiony moves and a kneebar (with pad), followed by another section of big lock-offs and power endurance climbing on crimps. Adam Ondra put up the FA in 2018 and looks like my ascent was the first repeat of the route. Hopefully it’ll get more traffic in the future.”
