Allison Vest Sends Two V13s in a Day

After ticking a burly problem in Utah, she drove to Idaho to repeat several other stout problems

Three-time Canadian national champion Allison Vest just had a hugely impressive day of bouldering. Vest, who became the first woman to climb V14 with Show Your Scars in 2022, just climbed two V13s in a day.

Last week, Vest started with a send of Pagan Poetry Low, a V13 found in Joe’s Valley. She then drove to Castle Rocks, Idaho, and climbed Green in the Face V13. After sending two V13s, she went on to climb Golden Chandelier V10 and 2nd Place V9/10, saying that it was probably her best day of bouldering to date.

In 2019, Vest became the first Canadian woman to climb V13 with a repeat of Terminator in Squamish – which you can watch below. In 2021, she sent her first 5.14a with Thrown’ the Houlihan on the Erratic Crag at Wild Iris.

Vest moved to Canmore with her family when she was seven, and two years later began comp climbing. She joined the national team as a teenager, and went on to win gold in the 2018 and 2020 Canadian boulder nationals. She won gold in lead nationals in 2019.
