Amity Warme Climbs 13-Pitch 5.13d in U.S.A.
Sendero Luminoso is a test-piece found on Mount Hooker in Wyoming

Amity Warme has repeated Sendero Luminoso, a 13-pitch 5.13d route on Mount Hooker in Wyoming’s Wind River Range. The stout route was freed in 2014 by Nik Berry, David Allfrey and Mason Earle.
The route beta was added to Mountain Project by Earle himself, and the page is where several climbers who’ve repeated Sendero Luminoso have shared their thoughts. Warme said, “One of the best, most sustained multipitch routes in the US! Five star technical dancing the whole way. Comes down to one nails hard boulder problem crux, good weather, fresh shoes, and the capacity to climb many difficult pitches in a day. Don’t neglect to pay some attention to the final crux on the last 13, there is good beta for it despite how insecure it may seem at first glance.”
Warme is one of the world’s best big wall free climbers, with several noteworthy ascents on some of the most famous big walls in North America. We spoke to Warme earlier this year about her repeat of Book of Hate 5.13d trad in Yosemite, read the story here.
Mount Hooker is home to several difficult routes, including The Optimist 5.12 12p, Gamblin in the Winds 5.12R 14p, Shady Lady 5.12+ 14p, The Gaff 5.13- 15p, and Original Sin 5.12+ 14p. Read about the 2017 first free ascent of Original Sin, an old Royal Robbins route, here.
