Ashima Shiraishi Sends Jade V14 in Colorado

Her first V14 was back in 2013

Top American climber Ashima Shiraishi has climbed the classic boulder problem Jade V14 in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was first climbed by Daniel Woods in 2007.

In 2013, Shiraishi became the second woman to climb a V14 after Tomoko Ogawa with her send of The Swarm. At age 13, she sent her first 5.14d with Open Mind Direct in Santa Linya, Spain. She then repeated Ciudad de Dios and became the youngest to climb 5.14d/15a.

She then rose to the top of the comp word in 2015, 2016, and 2017 winning the IFSC World Youth Championships for both Lead and Bouldering. In March 2016, at 14 years old, she climbed Horizon V15 in Mount Hiei, Japan, for its second ascent. She became the first female climber as well as the youngest climber to climb V15.
