The Lillooet Ice Festival is taking place in the town of Lillooet on the Fraser River. This is a relatively new event which started before the pandemic.

Ice climbers can celebrate local routes during the day while watching presentations at night in Lillooet. Things started early today with clinics heading out to Icy B.C., a classic 120-metre WI5 in Marble Canyon.

Other climbers had arrived early to run laps before the crowds arrived. The three routes, Icy B.C., Deeping Wall WI5 and Waite for Spring WI4+ were all climbed by just after sunrise. Climbers will rejoin later today at the Lillooet Brewery for a night of live music and presentations. For more info visit here.
