Big Austria Route Die Hard is Sent at M11+ WI6+

German climber Michi Wohlleben, with partner Lukas Binder, has made the first free ascent of Stirb Langsam (Die Hard) M11+ WI6+ 200m in the Wetterstein range of Tyrol, Austria. The route climbs big overhangs and connects hanging daggers. The route was established in 2013, but did not fully form until this winter.

Similar routes in Canada would be the demanding mixed/ice routes at Helmcken Falls, Nophobia M10 150m in the Ghost, Jimmy Skid Rig M11 WI5 180m near Canmore, God Delusion M8+ WI5+ 185m on the Stanley Headwall and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe M12 WI7+ 180m in Newfoundland.
