Breaking News: Laura Rogora has sent Erebor 5.15b/c

Her send is the second ascent of the difficult line first climbed by Stefano Ghisolfi

Laura Rogora is quickly climbing her way to the top of the short list of the world’s strongest sport climbers with her send of Erebor 5.15b/c in Arco, Italy. Rogora had climbed around 20 routes from 5.14+ to 5.15b. Few climbers have ticked anything harder than 5.15b/c.

When it comes to hard lines, she got the second ascent of Pure Dreaming Plus 5.15a, a repeat of The Bow 5.15a and a tick of Ali Hulk Sit Extension Total in Spain 5.15b. Some of her hardest first ascents include Tommorowland Extension 5.14+, Supercrack 5.14+, La Gasparata 5.14+, Sitting Bull 5.14+ and Reveille-toi 5.14d; all in Italy. She finished 15th in women’s combined at the Tokyo Olympics.

The first ascent of Erebor was by Stefano Ghisolfi, who told Rogora after her send that Bibliographie 5.15c isn’t much harder and that she should book a ticket to France to attempt it.

The 20-year-old 150-centimetre-tall Italian crusher sent her first 5.14b at age 13 with Ciccio Formaggio in Italy, and her first 5.14d when she was 14. Her first 5.15a was Pure Dreaming Plus in May 2020.
