Breaking News: Yves Gravelle Opens New V15 in Quebec

The Canadian crusher has established some of the country's hardest problems over the past year

Yves Gravelle has made the first ascent of Low Miall’s V15 at Kanata Tremblant in Quebec. Watch a video of the roof send below. He spent three months training for the project.

His new sit start adds four moves from V11 to V14 and is 15 moves long. Gravelle, who’s competed in the world championships of grip strength, is known on social media for his finger power and forearm strength.

Earlier this summer, Gravelle made the FA of Carnage at Calabogie in eastern Ontario at V14. In our story about his hard new problems, he said, “I would get two good burns on it, but then I was bleeding on two-to-three fingers. I would take a week just to get the skin back. It was kind of challenging because I was still feeling physically good, but the holds were so small that I could not put tape on. The left part of that crimp was terrible. It doesn’t even look like there’s a hold there. I started switching the hands. I gave my two burns and figured out the last day how to start right hand, which made pulling off and setting up a bit harder, but since you already had that left hand, it made the move up to the sloper a bit easier.”

We’ve reached out to Gravelle about Low Miall and will have more information about the burly problem later this week.
