Caldwell and Honnold’s Massive Zion Link-Up

Americans Tommy Caldwell and Alex Honnold have free climbed four Zion big-walls in a single 16-hour push. The pair started on Sheer Lunacy, an eight-pitch route with three 5.11 pitches and a crux 5.12b pitch. They then moved to the sustained 10-pitch Moonlight Buttress 5.12d with its six consecutive 5.12 pitches. The 300-metre tall Touchstone Wall with its moderate climbing and 5.13b crux was next on the list and the pair finished the day by climbing the 350 metre long Spaceshot – a route with mostly moderate climbing and a 5.13a crux.
