Canadian Elan Jonas McRae Sends Ciudad de Dios 5.14d/15a

Canadian Elan Jonas McRae has sent Ciudad de Dios 5.14d/15a in the Santa Linya cave. Based on Vancouver Island, McRae is one of Canada’s top comp climbers. With a number of hard 5.14 sends and at least three V14s (The Swarm, The Reckoning and Direct North), Jonas McRae is at the top of his game.

Ciudad de Dios combines Open Your Mind Direct and La Fabela. Jonas McRae began climbing at 10 years old after a week long camp at the Romper Room climbing gym. He is currently climbing in Spain with some Canadian friends. Sean McColl has climbed a number of 5.14ds, including PuntX in France. The route was tentatively graded 5.14d/15a, but later settled at 5.14d. You can read McColl’s story here. McColl also made the second ascent of Dreamcatcher 5.14d in Squamish in 2009.
