Climber Rescued After Getting Knee Stuck

After 12 hours of being on the wall, the climber was rescued by San Juan County Search & Rescue

A rock climber got his knee stuck in Generic Crack, a popular 5.10 trad route at Indian Creek’s Donnelly Canyon, The climber was stuck for around 12 hours but did not suffer major injuries.

After using dish soap to try to free the climber’s knee, a search and rescue team built a hauling system to free them. Tools were used around the stuck climber, but the route was not severely damaged.

The rescue was carried out by the San Juan County Search and Rescue group, who said on their Facebook page, “With their help the male was free and on the ground safely. After being stuck on the wall for around 12 hours. Thankfully he only suffered minor injuries.”
